Emma Capon (RESET) to be guest speaker at next Social Mentoring Network forum

The next Social Mentoring Network (SMN) meeting takes place at The University of Brighton (Falmer Campus, Room 102 – Mayfield House) on Monday 6th of November between 14:00-16:00.

The guest speaker is Emma Capon, Volunteer Co-ordinator with Rainer. Emma has over 10 years experience in the voluntary sector including a range of experience around mentoring, young people and youth justice. Emma is currently the Volunteer Co-ordinator for the RESET Resettlement Initiative providing mentors to young people leaving custody and returning home to Lewisham, Newham and Greenwich. Prior to this Emma worked in partnership with Brighton and Hove Council and Sussex Police to provide volunteer mentoring and appropriate adult services to the Youth Offending Team.

There will also be opportunities for group discussions about the definitions of mentoring, what the SMN is about and who it is for, and ideas about future guest speakers.
